NRF Recap: StoreAdvise Makes Big Splash In Tech
January 25, 2019 | by StoreAdvise
From new toys to new tech to new trends, NRF 2019 packed quite a punch for its 40,000 attendees this year. When BJ’s Wholesale Club Chairman, president and CEO Chris Baldwin made opening remarks at the 2019 show earlier this month, he reinforced a mantra many of us in the industry have been saying for years. “Retail never went away,” he said. “As I stand here today, I can say that our industry is more healthy, vibrant, innovative and exciting than ever.” Accurate and invigorating, it set the pace for one of the best shows to date.
Top Tech Trends
While many new themes emerged at this year’s Big Show, top billing definitely went to innovation and technology. Artificial intelligence, automation and even robotics were all subjects that made their way into speeches and booths throughout the show. An interesting nuance to this year’s tech focus was the common refrain that these technologies shouldn’t be seen as a ploy to replace human talent, but rather, as tools and resources for developing it.
Newsmakers and Partners in Innovation
Offering a combination of technology and associate-focused efficiencies for the modern store, StoreAdvise was poised to make quite a name for itself this year, and several industry outlets agreed.
At the close of the show, we were excited to learn our partnership with Adore Me was recognized by RIS in its Top 10 Takeaways roundup, which highlighted the show’s biggest movers and shakers, including the likes of Microsoft, Kroger and California Closets among others.
WWD also did a feature on our partnership with Adore Me, focusing on our IoT solutions and fitting room technology, and named us in their best-of list for technology and fashion retailers, What to Watch: Retail’s FashTech Providers. Other noteworthy news mentions included pieces in Chain Store Age and Retail TouchPoints, both of which highlighted Adore Me’s StoreAdvise-powered fitting rooms.
Retail’s Big Show for 2019 certainly shined a spotlight on technology and innovation, and we are so proud to be a key player leading the pack.
